I wanted to like this place, and there were moments where it seemed like it might turn around, but it just never really did. The drinks came out warm, the food was bland, and then the bill felt way too high for what we actually got. It was frustrating because the vibe wasn’t terrible, but the experience was still disappointing.

I tried booking tickets on hertfordshirezoo.com and it was way more stressful than it needed to be!!! The checkout page kept freezing, and I was just sitting there wondering if my payment had actually gone through or not!!!
Then I didn’t get a clear confirmation email for ages, so I had to chase it up myself!!! Not exactly ideal when you’re just trying to plan a simple day out!!! Really frustrating ticketing experience overall!!!

I don’t want to make it sound like the zoo was dirty, because it really wasn’t bad overall. Most areas were tidy enough and we still had a decent family day out. That said, a few of the toilets definitely needed a proper clean, and some of the bins were getting full by the time we noticed them. It’s not like it ruined the visit or anything, I just think for the price and the kind of place it is, you expect those basics to be kept on top of a bit better.

I’ll be honest, the first impression wasn’t great. It felt a little chaotic when we arrived, and it took a bit too long to figure out where to go or who to ask for help, which was frustrating.
That said, most of the staff were friendly once we did get someone’s attention. A couple of them were really sweet with the kids and gave clear directions, but a few areas still felt understaffed and one person seemed rushed. Overall, it was okay, just not as smooth or welcoming as I’d hoped.

Went to Hertfordshire Zoo last weekend, i came away feeling a bit underwhelmed. There were definitely some lovely animals to see, but after a while it started to feel like we were doing a greatest hits tour of very similar enclosures.

I think we were hoping for a few more big or unusual animals, especially given the ticket price. Instead, it had that slightly ironic feeling of paying zoo prices to mostly say, “Oh look, another one of those,” every ten minutes.

The kids still had a decent time, so it wasn’t a disaster by any means, but as adults we expected a bit more to wander around and get excited about. Nice enough day out, just not somewhere I’d be rushing back to

I was frustrated because the website said one thing, but when I got there and asked about it, the staff didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. I asked a couple of simple questions and couldn’t really get clear answers, which made the whole experience more confusing than it needed to be.

So... we went expecting it to be a fun day out with the kids, but they got bored quickly. The queues were really long too, which made it hard to keep everyone happy.

We had an okay day overall, and the staff seemed friendly enough, but a few of the enclosures looked a bit worn out and small for the animals. Some areas just felt cramped and like they could really use a refresh. For the price, I was expecting the enclosures to be in better shape

I had a hard time using some parts because the accessibility features aren’t quite there yet. If those were improved, it would be a lot easier for more people to navigate and use comfortably.

Went with my family most of the animals looked healthy, calm, and well cared for. The enclosures were clean too, which was good to see. A couple of areas did feel a little on the small side, but overall it really seemed like they take animal welfare seriously. The extra loud music in one section felt unnecessary, but aside from that it was a nice day out.

We did the animal encounter it was great. Lovely. The staff were really friendly and shared loads of interesting bits without it feeling like a lecture, which I appreciated. The animals all looked well looked after too. Reassuring. The only small downside was that it felt a bit rushed towards the end, but overall we had a really nice time.

The place didn’t feel very well looked after. The toilets were messy, the bins were overflowing, and a few of the paths were in rough shape. For what we paid, I expected better. It also had that weird feeling like there wasn’t really anyone around keeping an eye on things.

I mainly went because of the educational talks, so I don’t think I’m being too picky here, but I was disappointed. The talk started late, the speaker was really hard to hear, and a lot of it was just the same basic info you could read on the signs nearby. The kids lost interest quite quickly, which I couldn’t really blame them for. I was also expecting a bit more interaction or at least a chance to ask questions, but there wasn’t much of that. For what the day cost, I expected something a bit more engaging.

We had a nice day at Hertfordshire Zoo overall. The animals seemed well looked after, which is the main thing really, and the place was tidy enough. The kids were happy running around and spotting different animals, then suddenly they were more interested in snacks, as kids are. So yeah, it was a decent outing and I don’t regret going.

The only thing that stuck with me was the cost. Once you’ve paid to get in, then add food and drinks and the odd treat, it does start to feel a bit much for what’s there. Some parts were really lovely, then other bits felt a little plain or like they could do with more going on. I’d probably go back, but more likely if there was a discount or offer, because at full price I’d think twice

I did eventually find a parking spot, but it took a little while because the lot was busy. What bothered me more was how I felt a bit talked down to when I asked about where to park, like it was something I should’ve already known. Not the worst experience, but it left a bad taste.

The layout was really confusing, and the signs didn’t help much. I kept getting sent from one area to another and felt kind of passed around the whole time. I ended up getting lost a lot, which made the visit frustrating
